Australian international and New York Red Bulls playmaker, Tim Cahill, has officially joined forces with Warrior Football, confirming a Skreamer boot deal has been struck with the brand.
As one of the English Premier League’s highest scoring midfielders of all time, Cahill spent 15 years in England with spells at Millwall and Everton football clubs. After making a name for himself at the New Den, Tim was signed to the blue half of Merseyside by David Moyes where he spent eight successful years and became an Everton icon.
Cahill’s international playing record is unmatched in the history of Australian football. With a goal almost every other game, Tim has captured the hearts and minds of the nation throughout his 63 caps.
The Australian, who still holds the record for the most headed goals in the Premier League, says he is excited about his future with Warrior.
“This is a long term project and I feel fortunate at this stage of my career to be a part of it,” said Cahill. “I’m involved in grass roots programmes and I want to make sure the future stars of football are wearing the best boots and the best kit. I believe the product innovation at Warrior is going to revolutionise the boot and kit markets and I will be flying the flag to make sure that the next generation of Australia and America will be wearing Warrior product.”
Ben Haworth, global sports marketing manager for Warrior Football, is thrilled to now call Cahill a Warrior player.
“In Tim we are signing a player with a decorated football CV who has made an imprint in Australasia, Asia, Europe and North America. Very few players can claim to have made such an impact across so many global markets,” he said.
“Tim becomes our first player in the MLS and we are thrilled he is helping us take the Warrior Football brand to a league which has gone from strength to strength over the past few years. It’s testament to Tim’s character that he has been a fans’ favourite for every team he has played for and we are hoping this is a relationship that goes far beyond his playing days,” added Haworth.
