A simple but meaningful Singapore Cerebral Palsy football team Kit Presentation was held last Saturday at Cage Sports Park prior to the team’s departure for Myanmar to participate in the 7th ASEAN Para Games 2014! This is also the first time where football is included in the Para Games history.
Immediately after the kit presentation, an exhibition game which saw many great footballers from the S.League and Singapore National team, such as Rezal Hassan, S.Subramani, Hyrule Jamaat, Richard Bok, Akihiro Nakamura and many more showing their class and ended the meaningful evening with many giving their thumbs up!
With limited resources, Singapore Cerebral Palsy football team’s head coach, Mohamed Zainudeen has been working hard to put the team together for the past few years. With the team’s recent participations in tournaments in the ASEAN region, Dubai and even as far as Austria, you would not doubt the team’s preparation and their never-say-die attitude.
“We beat some great teams such as Jordan and Korea in Dubai to clinch AFC Dream Asia tournament third placing, just behind Iran and Australia last year. We also went to Austria and the team did extremely well. Although we still have not been informed by the Para Games organizing committee on who exactly are our opponents yet, we are well-prepared and I have absolute confidence in our team’s ability to go for the gold medal", said Coach Zainudeen.
While speaking to Junpiter Futbol, Coach Zainudeen expressed his heartfelt appreciation to Dynamique Konzepts, who is one of their biggest supporters, and also the organizer for SingaCup, Singapore’s Premier International Youth Football Tournament, for all the support he and his team have been receiving. For such a kit presentation and exhibition game to take place, certainly it speaks a lot on the support which Dynamique Konzepts has been extending to the Singapore Cerebral Palsy football team.
“Dynamique Konzepts would like to start the new year 2014 by giving back to the society. This is our first project of the year. And with the Singapore Cerebral Palsy football team representing Singapore in the 7th ASEAN Para Games this month, we find that this is the best opportunity for us to contribute and support the team. We are also looking at having a Cerebral Palsy category for our SingaCup in the near future too", said Dynamique Konzepts’ Director, Selvakumar Panneerselvam.
This group of players, playing with a Singapore flag on their chest, deserved nothing less than a write-up recognition. Let’s give them all the support and recognition we can. And here, Junpiter Futbol wishes Singapore Cerebral Palsy football team all the best of luck and hope that they will bring back the first ever Gold medal for Singapore!
