The 1990s was a historic time for PUMA as the brand was at its peak for product innovation in performance sports, manufacturing running shoes that were bold and dramatic. It was in this decade that PUMA created the Trinomic technology and incorporated it into numerous performance silhouettes. Featuring honeycomb-like clear rubber hexagonal cells that could collapse and expand, PUMA’s Trinomic technology provided enhanced cushioning, flexibility and stability.
In looking ahead as a brand, PUMA looks back to its sports heritage for inspiration; where moments on the track and elsewhere earned the brand a name synonymous with style innovation and authenticity. During the 1990s, the Trinomic technology and, in particular, the PUMA Trinomic XS850 became iconic in the performance arena. Released in 1992, the XS850 was trail running shoe designed to handle softer and uneven surfaces with maximum stability and was a unique addition to the Trinomic running family.
With the reemergence of trends reminiscent of the 90s such as hip-hop influenced sportswear, neon brights and abstract prints, PUMA has decided to reissue the XS850. Featuring the iconic hexagonal construction, its original colors with a pop of neon pink, original tooling and classic heel splatter, the XS850 is set to become an icon on the street.
The PUMA Trinomic XS850 OG is released through PUMA’s new CREAM program me, which replaces the LIST. CREAM is denied by the most exclusive PUMA collaborations as well as limited PUMA inline products and will include reissues from the extensive PUMA archive. CREAM will be the creme de la creme in terms of product and collaboration, with more comprehensive objectives and allocations closer to local market needs.
The PUMA Trinomic XS850 OG will launch in Singapore at Limited Edt Chamber at Marina Bay Sands and Limited Edt Vault at 313 @ Somerset on 15 March 2014 and will be retailing at SGD 149.
