Puma introduced Puma evoSPEED 1.2 and Puma evoPOWER recently and Junpiter Futbol had the opportunity to test out both Puma’s latest football boots in town!
Puma evoSPEED 1.2
The new evoSPEED 1.2 FG is designed to facilitate enhanced maneuverability and enables players to reach top speeds quickly while maintaining stability and comfort. One thing I find extremely good with the boots is the weight of the boots – 198 grams. It is extra light and flexible, making it the perfect choice for speedy players.
The evoSPEED 1,2 FG is fitted with the speedCELL technology that allows for the boot to have a mono-layer microfiber, which increases flexibility and reduces weight. The EverFit cage within the boot creates a snug midfoot fit. A combination of the Pebax outsole with the bladed and conical studs enhances stability for the heel, as well as absolute freedom during forefoot rotation. The upper features an extremely thing 3d film that allows for superior ball grip, even in wet conditions.
First of all, we are really attracted to the new color, unique shark blue, fluo peach and fluo yellow. Comparing this soft metallic color to the boots’ colors from the other brands, Puma evoSPEED stands out. The color scheme is somehow different from the usual colors which we see in the market. Finally, the boot feature a prominent PUMA wording on the lateral side, which adds to the striking look of this new boot. If you want a pair of boots which is classy, unique and light, this will be the right boots for you!
PUMA’s evoSPEED 1.2 FG cleat will be worn by Sergio Aguero and Radamel Falcao throughout the 2013/14 football season.
Puma evoPOWER
A pair of new revolutionary evoPOWER football boots which is designed to enhance a player’s natural kicking ability and optimise a player’s power and accuracy when striking the ball. Inspired by the freedom of movement of barefoot kicking and evoPOWER also features the most advanced PUMA technologies to date!
Studies show that a bare foot generates a more powerful kick than a booted foot through non-restricted flexibility. However, players experience experience a loss of control and accuracy over the ball due to the natural contours of the foot. evoPOWER features the Gradual Stability Frame (GSF), which is an innovative spine in the sole plate that allows the boot to bend both ways, enabling the boot’s movement to be as close as possible to the biomechanics of the bare foot an replicate its natural power. This is further enhanced through the Adap-Lite special upper that only stretches vertically. Control and accuracy are improved through AccuFoam insert located on the upper, which upon impact, creates a smooth and flat kicking and ensures an even pressure distribution.
The strategically placed EverFit External Cage in the midfoot and the ultra lightweight Pebax outside provides the needed flexibility and support while the mix of bladed and conical studs offers an optimal mix between stability grip and maneuverability. Additional features like the soft heel inserts help relieve pressure on the Achilles allowing for a bigger range of motion for the feet while the lightweight pre-moulded EVA sockliner provides optimal pressure distribution and cushioning.
Many would agree with us, not many or probably no football boot would give a seasoned feel on your first attempt especially for a pair of brand new boots. Well, for this pair of evoPOWER, it does that amazingly! With our new pair of socks, our feet did not lose grip in the boots despite it’s a brand new pair which has never been worn before. And our feet felt completely “naked”! The freedom of executing moves and shooting in a bare footed way certainly gives us extreme confidence.
This pair of new Puma evoPOWER will be worn on pitch by Cesc Fabregas, Marco Reus, Mario Balotelli, Yaya Toure, Nemanja Vidic, Dante and many others.
