FC Tokyo’s 17 years old Takefusa Kubo has agreed to join Yokohama F.Marinos on loan till the end of this season. The club has made the official announcement via Twitter on Thursday morning.
Highly regarded as Japan’s Leo Messi, the football sensation returned to Japan after spending 3 years at the famous Barcelona youth academy La Masia. It did not take long for the talent to shine as he made his senior team debut at the age of 15 year old, just months after joining FC Tokyo U-23 playing in J3 (J.League 3 tier), to become the youngest rookie in the history of J.League.
Not only that, the current Japan U-21 attacking midfielder scored against Cerezo Osaka to become the youngest player to score in the J.League at 15 years and 10 months. He has also become the youngest ever goalscorer in the history of Japan’s League Cup when he netted the winner in a 1-0 victory over Albirex Niigata in March.
