South-East Asia most renowned football competition, AFF Suzuki Cup 2012, is bringing all South-East Asia football fans together again! 2012 edition will be co-hosted by Malaysia and Thailand, 24 November to 22 December 2012, and Singapore kicking off its campaign this coming Sunday, against arch-rival and co-host country, Malaysia!
After winning the AFF Suzuki Cup 3 times, the very first, previously known as Tiger Cup, in 1998, Singapore won the Cup in 2004 and 2006 too. Although Singapore is one of the biggest winners in this competition, Singapore’s performance and results did not reflect the glory team for the past few months which leaded to the fans’ questionings.
Singapore’s AFF Suzuki Cup preparation and neighboring countries’ was drew into comparisons. And not only that, Singapore’s head coach, Raddy, could be leading Singapore for the last time if the rumors are true.
Nonetheless, Singapore will kick off the competition by playing against Malaysia on 25 November 2012 at Bukit Jalil National Stadium, Kuala Lumpur. 3 days later, Singapore will play Indonesia. Comes 1 Dec 2012, Singapore will play Laos in the last group game match. Players to watch in this competition for Singapore will be Hariss Harun, Mustafic Fahrudin and evergreen, Aleksandar Duric!
Singaporean fans will be able to catch the game LIVE at Okto channel on 25 November 2012, 8.40pm. Can’t catch the Lions in action in Kuala Lumpur, stay tune to Okto channel this coming Sunday!
