SINGACUP 2012 has officially kicked off yesterday at Cage Sports Park! Weather has not been extremely kind for all the players but everyone seems to be enjoying themselves!
Far away from the pitches, we could hear players communicating to each others like a morning market, coaches shouting instructions across the pitches and even parents of the players’ had their fair share of moment, cheering their kids loudly by the side of the pitches! Cage Sports Park is normally not that crowded in a typical weekday afternoon but yesterday, it was fully packed to the carpark entrance!
So which are the outstanding teams so far? Youth Football Home Phuket is definitely the team which stands out right now after the second day. Completing in the Boys U-18 category, majority of the Thailand squad is made up of 15 years old, and with only three 17 years old, Youth Football Home Phuket has already registered 4 wins out of 4 games!
One of the reasons for their outstanding performance in this competition are because of these duo – team captain, Wuttichai Sooksen (17 years old) and Phonlawat Nanta (15 years old). Both players who had recently spent 2 weeks training with German club, Schalke 04, are doing extremely well with the team. By cruising past their German and Australian opponents easily, this team has the Champion material for sure.
Well, it is still early to determine who will be the Champion but do drop by St Wilfred Sports Complex and Cage Sport Park tomorrow, you will get to catch many great games and be part of history to witness the next future stars!
