Singapore young Adam Swandi’s move to French club FC Metz has certainly inspired many young footballers to work hard and follow his footstep. Now, another fortunate player, or I should say a group of fortunate young players from Abu Dhabi-based Rawdhat FC U-18 will be living almost the same dream – training with one of the best clubs, Liverpool FC!
Comes the first week of April, 20 young players will be traveling to England to train at the Liverpool Academy! 18 outfield players and 2 goalkeepers will be living a dream and also stand a chance of being scouted too.
This one week training stint is made possible by Rawdhat FC’s CEO, Mr. Bambang Sugeng through the courtesy of Mr. Frank McParland, Director of Liverpool Academy. The purpose of this trip to Liverpool is to expose the team to the highest level of football, which is to play against Liverpool Academy U-18 team, and to gauge the difference in quality between Rawdhat and some of the bests in Liverpool.
Citing UAE’s skilfull midfielder, Omar Abdul Rahman as one of his idols, Rawdhat’s Captain Marvel, Saif Al Hameli said, “I would like myself, together with the team, to play the kind of football we used to and have been training for the past few months, to impress the coaches and the people watching us there. Mr. Bambang went through lots of hard work to secure this stint for us and we do not want to let him down.”
