Morale at the Choa Chu Kang camp could be at its history’s lowest after today’s game. After a poor start to the Great Eastern Yeo’s S.League 2013 season, Warriors FC looked forward to the AFC Cup for a brand new start. But the visitor from HongKong, Kitchee SC had another idea. They walked away with a 4-2 victory after coming back from 2-0 down at Jalan Besar Stadium.

Kitchee SC looked lively in their pink away top, but it was Warriors FC who drew the first blood in the 24th minute when Inui  Tatsuro (no-7) scored a well-taken free kick from right outside the penalty box! Just when everyone thought Warrior’s goal was pure luck, Erwan Gunawan (no-13) latched on a poor bad pass from Kitchee’s defense to double Warriors’ lead in the 29th minute! Warriors went into the half time break leading Kitchee SC 2-0.

One minute after the second half whistle was blown, Kitchee’s striker, Jorge Tarres (no-18) blasted the ball straight into the back of the net after some great passing, leaving Warriors’ custodian Hassan Sunny (no-1) no chance to react! With that goal, it was the start of Warriors’ downfall.

Four minutes later, Jorge Tarres put his name on the score sheet again while the entire Warriors’ defense was caught standing still watching the whole world collapsed on them. Also known as HongKong’s Barcelona, Kitchee equalized and started to dominate the play with their swift passing game!

In the 62nd minute, Kitchee extended their lead when a cross from the left found Lo Kwan Yee (no-12) as he headed home the third. To further add on to the misery of Warriors FC, Kitchee & HongKong’s midfielder, Lam Ka Wai crossed in beautifully from the right for Cheng Siu Wai (no-28) to volley home Kitchee’s fourth and final goal of the evening!

Kitchee brought home full three points from this away game and when Junpiter Futbol caught up with Kitchee & HongKong’s number-10 Lam Ka Wai, he commented, “Today, our team won an important game, an away game against Warriors FC was never easy and we really thank all Kitchee SC supporters who flew in from HongKong to support us”.
