King Kazu will be donning Japan National Team jersey after a long 12 years. However, this time round, instead of a red strip down the center of the jersey, its going to be a green one; Japan National Futsal Team!

Miura Kazuyoshi, 45 years old, is a Japanese football legend where he is still currently playing professionally in Japan’s J2, Yokohama FC. Having represented Japan 89 times and scoring 55 goals, he was left out from the 1998 World Cup squad after helping the team reached the final round. Probably, that could be his biggest regret in this career for not having an opportunity to play in a World Cup.

Well, that’s something for us to learn from his call-up; continue to work hard and never give up your dream. In search for more playing and learning opportunities, Kazu was loaned out to Japan’s F-League (Futsal), Hokkaido Espolada, where he impressed Japan Futsal National Team coach, Miguel Rodrigo, with his hardwork, determination and of course, skill. His disappointment and biggest regret in his career of not representing Japan in a World Cup could be well over comes next month in FIFA Futsal World Cup 2012 in Thailand!

In fact, Kazu is not the only living example of great player who is playing top tier competitive football in his forties. Teddy Sheringham retired at the age of 42 years old, David Season at 41 years old, Romário at 43 years old, Paolo Maldini at 41 years old and Singapore’s top striker, Aleksandar Duric is still playing at the age of 42 years old! One can’t disagree that their desire and passion for the beautiful game has taken over the control of the body to excel at forties. Young players should look up to these lot as role models and motivation.

Junpiter Futbol will be in Thailand to catch FIFA Futsal World Cup game between Brazil vs Japan in Korat next month. We hope to catch King Kazu in action and hopefully share a couple of shots with you here. Till then, we wish King Kazu all the best of luck, as his favorite phrase goes… boa sorte.
