2013 has been a long and extraordinary season for the S.League, to say the least. A season that comprised 162 league matches; 25 League Cup matches and 22 Singapore Cup matches have seen all twelve S.League clubs severely tested on all capacities, both physical and mental. Fans were treated to nine months of non-stop exhilarating football action, adorned with many dramatic and compelling moments that deserve to be acclaimed and remembered dearly.
The annual S.League Awards Night is a gala event to give recognition to the achievements of the S.League, as well as the accomplishments of the winners of the respective competitions (Great Eastern-YEO’s S.League, RHB Singapore Cup, StarHub League Cup). It is also the occasion to end and celebrate the season that has just concluded, where we express our utmost gratitude to the people behind our success: our major sponsors and strategic partners including Great Eastern, YEO’s, RHB Bank, StarHub, Singapore Pools and Singapore Sports Council, and also our other stakeholders including the FAS Council members, Club representatives, Affiliates, Friends of the media and the Fans. This year, the gala event was held at ITE College East (Simei) and was graced by Guest-of-Honour Associate Professor Ho Peng Kee, FAS Adviser. In addition to celebrating the highlights of the season, 12 different awards are also up for grabs, including Goal of the Year, Story of the Year, Picture of the Year, Top Scorer, Referee and Assistant Referee of the Year, Fan Club of the Year, Fair Play Award, People’s Choice Award, as well as Coach, Player and Young Player of the Year Awards.
