Barcelona’s legend, Pep Guardiola, ever said, “The player who has passed through La Masia has something different to the rest, it’s a plus that only comes from having competed in a Barcelona shirt from the time you were a child.” Very soon, 4 players from South-East Asia will be able to share if the famous quote is justifiable.
Muhammad Faris Bin Ramli (Singapore – 20 years old), together with Napapon Sripratheep (Thailand – 19 years old), Evan Dimas (Indonesia – 17 years old) and Rahmat Che Hashim (Malaysia – 24 years old) are the winners of Nike ‘The Chance’ Regional Finals in Jakarta!
In just 72 hours of stay in Jakarta, the young players received elite coaching sessions, including one with SPARQ expert Jason R. Mathews, who flew in from Los Angeles specially for this event, the players also underwent a physical and injury assessment by professional physicians. The players even had their first professional photo shoot where they took individual and team pictures in their ‘The Chance’ Kits!
“I’m very honored to win this and I will definitely do my best in Barcelona. And also, I would want to thank Nike for giving me the chance to have this futbol experience hopefully I will get some good exposure in Barcelona and become a better player”, said Muhammad Faris Bin Ramli.
Preparations for the global finals will begin immediately. We wish the 4 players all the best. Nevermind the final outcome, I believe the experience of rubbing shoulders with some of the world best players on the pitch will sure enhance their futbol!
