The Football Association of Singapore (FAS) is pleased to announce that Courts Young Lions will travel to Antalya, Turkey, for a training camp from 12 January to 12 February 2014.

The month-long training camp will see the Young Lions take on opponents including Azerbaijan Under-21s, Denmark Under-21s and Czech Republic side Slavia Prague, who play in the Czech Republic’s highest competition.

Courts Young Lions Head Coach Aide Iskandar is looking forward to the training camp, which he believes will give the players invaluable experience for their development: “I am looking forward to the challenge of our team playing against such quality sides. The entire experience will put the players in good stead for their future; we can only get better by playing against such quality opponents.

“Such a training camp matches the FAS Strategic Plan’s objective to expose our young players with the necessary overseas match exposure and experience, while taking on quality opponents. The experiences obtained from this camp will also aid our players in their preparations not only for the long-term, but also for the upcoming 2014 S.League season.”

Team Captain Al-Qaasimy Rahman echoed his coach’s sentiments: “We are excited and looking forward to pitting ourselves against such high-level opponents. All of us feel that this will be an invaluable learning experience for us all, and we want to thank FAS for providing this opportunity for us to train overseas.”

The Courts Young Lions squad, made up of players eligible for the 2015 SEA Games, will include their two foreign signings for the 2014 S.League season, Sherif El-Masri and Jordan Webb. Warriors FC and Singapore international goalkeeper Hassan Sunny also joins the squad for this training tour, lending his extensive experience to an otherwise youthful team. As part of plans to enhance his development, 17-year old Adam Swandi, who plies his trade in France with FC Metz, has also been included in the squad.
