It is official now – Brazil’s and World’s most promising forward, Neymar has signed for Barcelona for the upcoming 2013-2014 La Liga season! Neymar’s transfer has always been a debate since he broke into the football scene with Santos FC and especially after the FIFA Club World Cup last December, it was not a secret that both Barcelona and Real Madrid were a great fan of him.

The transfer fee was not revealed but according to reliable source, the deal was understood to be worth close to €60m (£51.3m). This announcement had been proceeded by Neymar writing online, “I am not going to wait until  Monday. My family and friends now know my decision. On Monday,  I will sign with Barcelona.”

Even with the support of his dad who felt that Barcelona’s playing style suited his son more, Neymar was unable to convince the Brazilian league football fans. Flamengo’s fans booed every touches he had with the ball and cheered when he lost the it at his last Brazilian Championship game. The game eventually ended in an un-interesting goalless draw on Sunday.

“It was an honor to have played for this marvelous team Santos. I am so happy I did. Every child has a dream, either to be a player, a dentist or a reporter. My drem was to become a professional athlete and I have achieved that. Today, Barcelona is fulfilling my dream of going to a totally beautiful team. Although I am not sure when I will be traveling to Barcelona, but I am excited to know that I will be playing alongside Lionel Messi, Xavi Hernandez, Andres Iniesta and Dani Alves.” said Neymar.

Not forgetting the Santos’ fans who have always been very supportive throughout his Brazilian league career, Neymar said, “See you later because I will be back one day.”
